Board of Abatement
The Jericho Board of Abatement hears testimony from property owners regarding their loss of property or inability to pay their taxes. In 2019 there was a substitution of "nonhomestead" for "nonresidential".
The reasons for abatement are outlined in Vermont State Statute Title 24 section 1535

The Board does not have regularly scheduled meetings, but meet at the next available time after abatement requests are received. Scheduling an abatement hearing can take several months to arrange as there must be at least 11 board members available to hear the abatement requests.
