Another Successful Repair Cafe

The Jericho Energy Task Force held their second Repair Cafe on Saturday, April 13 at the Jericho Community Center. Volunteers included three with sewing expertise (one of whom is an expert knitter), two sewing machine specialists, and three general fix-it folks including a father/son team.

Eleven people made reservations and we accommodated three walk-ins. Repairs included a wide variety sewing and knitting projects, a lesson in darning, several sewing machines, a headless doll which one of our repair people took home to fix, a lamp, and a CD player. A coffee maker and a vacuum cleaner were unfixable although the owner of the latter now has a better idea of where the problem probably lies.

JETF wants to thank the Community Center for use of the building and our fantastic volunteers for taking time out of their Saturday to help their neighbors.
