Grab some popcorn & join the JETF for a movie!

Please join the Jericho Energy Task Force at the Deborah Rawson Memorial Library on January 24 at 6:30 p.m. for a showing of the movie Eating Animals. Based on the bestselling book by Jonathan Safran Foer and narrated by Natalie Portman,

Eating Animals looks at the environmental, economic, and public health consequences of factory farming. The film charts the progression of American farming from local and sustainable to what is described as “a corporate Frankenstein monster” offering cheap eggs, meat, and dairy which results in the exploitation of animals, the risky use of antibiotics and hormones, and the pollution of our air, soil, and water. Ending on a positive note, the film features farmers who have pushed backed against industrial agriculture with more humane practices.

The Jericho Energy Task Force has been presenting our movie/lecture series since 2011. This is the first event of this year’s series. Local farmers will be on hand to discuss how they are able to compete against large agri-businesses. Light refreshments will be served but this will be a waste-free event so please bring your own mugs and dishes. For further information contact Larry Lamb at lblamb@hotmail.com.
