Community News:

Planning Commission:
The Planning Commission looks forward to the Selectboard's second public hearing at 6pm on September 4, to consider adopting zoning updates for the village areas. The PC recommended the updates to make it easier to develop housing and small businesses in the village areas, and to streamline the zoning permit applications process throughout town.
The PC will be spending most of the fall looking at ways to enable clustered housing in the rural areas while protecting working lands and natural resources. We welcome your comments about what Jericho's rural landscape means to you. Pchair@jerichovt.gov
Town Meeting Reimagined:
Budget and Ballot "KICK-OFF" (Meeting #1 of 3) - Saturday, September 20 at MMU HS Library 10am - noon (and Zoom)
What to expect at this meeting: Group conversations on budget-related or other topics important to Jericho residents that will be shared with the Selectboard. This is the best time to bring your ideas for possible 'public questions' which may appear on the ballot as “Shall the Town of Jericho…”

Wastewater Task Force:
The Jericho Wastewater Task Force is meeting on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm at Town Hall (and Zoom). The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend and comment. The agenda includes discussing the task force's charge, draft timeline for upcoming work, and FY27 budget requests. Read more here.
Town Clerk
There will be a community memorial service on September 6th for long-time Jericho resident Mary Jane Dickerson. Read more here.
Jericho Property Taxes are due on Monday, September 15, 2025. Treasurer Office hours: Monday - Thursday 7:45 am - 2:45 pm. The outside Drop Box at Town Hall is available for tax payments 24/7.
The Board of Civil Authority is reviewing Jericho’s voter registration list. Challenge letters will be sent to voters that the BCA could not confirm still lived in Jericho. Letters should arrive mid-September. Read more here.
Jericho Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee:
There will be no September meeting due to the Labor Day holiday.
We are organizing a community book group that centers Vermont authors, to be scheduled in October. Click here to see the book choices and vote.
Affordable Housing Committee:
The Affordable Housing Committee, which now meets on an ad-hoc basis, will meet on September 9th via Zoom.
Town Hall Art Project:
Call to Artists: Earth’s Bounty. Whether Earth’s Bounty brings to mind the classic cornucopia, Rockwell’s “Freedom from Want”, the diversity of life on this planet or simply a place of beauty, established and emerging artists are invited to submit one or two pieces of artwork in any medium including photography for “Earth’s Bounty.
