Here are some updates that might interest you.

Thank You Volunteers
A note of appreciation for Jericho’s volunteers - whether serving on a Town Committee or giving time to participate in other events like Green Up Day your time and work are important to our community. Thanks to those who have recently ended terms of service, and for those with renewed appointments. Did you know? Vermont ranks 5th in the country for informal helping and 13th for formal volunteerism. You can read a summary of the state’s civic health report here.
Dog Registration
It is important to vaccinate your dog against rabies and keep a current rabies certificate on file with the Town. In fact, it’s the law. The registration fee is waived by the town for licenses renewed by April 1st. Online Registration Forms
Town Meeting Reimagined
The TMR taskforce has met three times over the past two months to review and discuss suggestions and comments related to the three-part budget process that culminated with the Australian Ballot vote on March 4. The taskforce was pleased with the outcomes of the first year of implementing the process voters set in motion on Town Meeting Day of 2024. We also recognize there are ways we can improve the process. The taskforce plans to meet at 6pm on April 3 by Zoom to discuss our draft report to the Selectboard, including recommendations for how to improve the process for the coming year.
Planning Commission
The Jericho Planning Commission (PC) is meeting Tuesday, April 1st, 7:00 pm at Town Hall and via Zoom. Main topics of the meeting include additional discussion of Section 13: Riverside Form-based Code and Section 10: Permits and Review Procedures. The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend and comment.
Film Screening
Join the Jericho DEI/Affordable Housing/Food Hub committees on April 14th at 7pm for a screening of the film “Just Getting By” followed by a discussion led by the filmmaker Bess O'Brien of Kingdom County Productions. The film tells the stories of Vermonters living with food and housing insecurity. Watching O’Brien’s interviews can deepen our understanding of what it is like to find affordable housing, struggle to feed one's family, and navigate support systems. The film also introduces advocates and community organizers who are trying to support Vermonters in making ends meet. Read more.
