Green Up Day 2025 - May 3rd

Pick up your Green Up trash bags and get out in your community on Saturday, May 3 to clean up your neighborhood roads and waterways. As a volunteer, you make a huge difference for our environment.




STEP 1: GRAB SOME GREEN BAGS

Green Up Day Bags available in advance at Jericho Town Hall and on Green Up Day at the Community Center.

STEP 2: TAKE YOUR FILLED BAGS TO THE TOWN GARAGE DUMPSTERS

On Green Up Day (May 3rd), full greens bags of trash can be dropped off at the Jericho Highway Department, 510 Browns Trace, between the hours of 10 am -2 pm. Please do not leave any trash there outside of these hours.

The Green Up Day Potluck Breakfast

Drop in to the Community Center in Jericho Center, 329 Browns Trace(External link), between 8:30 am and 10:00 am to join your neighbors for a bite to eat and before heading out to Green Up our town! Food provided includes breakfast cake, bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, juice. (You may also bring food to share if you'd like, but it's not required!)

  • Green Up Day 2021

    Green Up day is Saturday May 1, with all of last year's Covid safety protocols. Mask, distance, gloves, caution. See the State's website for all safety details. Greenupvermont.org.

    Sign up for a road segment with Sign UP Genius HERE. However, you don't need to sign up to green up!

    Green Up Day Bags will be available at the front steps of the Jericho Town Hall, Jericho Town Library and Community Center in Jericho starting Monday April 12th

    On Green Up Day, the Town Garage, 510 Browns Trace, will be open from 10am to 2pm to collect green up day trash, scrap metal and tires that are found along the road side. Do not bring propane tanks. Leave them where they are and let the Town know about the location. You can do that by calling 899-4936 x1 or you can use the "Green Up Spots" mapping tool (below on this page), where you can place a pin and a picture on the location where you find any large items. That will help us locate them. You can also use this tool to help us locate other large items that you can't/don't want to drop off at the Town Garage. Green Up Day trash will only be accepted from municipal trucks at Chittenden Solid Waste District so residents should transport the trash to the Town Garage by 2pm on Saturday.

    We are also looking for a Green Up Day co-coordinator. This is a great way for someone to get involved in the Jericho Community! Please contact Jessica Alexander for more information.

    Please note that there will not be a Green Up Day Breakfast this year or town wide sing-a-long.

  • 2019 Green Up Day

    Saturday May 4 was Jericho's Green Up Day.


    Green Up Day Volunteers started off their day with the Annual Green Up Day Breakfast at the Community Center in Jericho Center followed by a day of picking up around the community. Below are some pictures first of the breakfast and then folks dropping off trash at the highway garage. More pictures can be found on the sidebar of this page.
