Jericho Center Storm-water Project

The town is currently working to develop plans for storm-water infrastructure in Jericho Center. The Town's Stormwater Master Plan ranked the Jericho Center project #4 out of all the potential projects the town could undertake.

The project that ranked #1, Packard Road Town Parcel Infiltration Basin, has been completed. The town has received a grant to start design of the #2 ranked project, South Main Street Underground Storage and Infiltration Chambers.

The project that ranked #3 isn't feasible for the near future as it involved installing infrastructure under the MMU parking lot, which was recently re-paved. The storm-water BMP project will result in 100% engineered design plans for the project. To construct the project, the town will need to secure additional grant funds.

At the same time, another project is looking at improvements to Bolger Hill that are aimed at reducing the amount of storm-water runoff and gravel that washes into Jericho Center Circle. A technical memo completed in January 2020, identified Alternative #4 as best meeting the purpose and need of the study. That alternative includes the first 650' of Bolger Hill. This project will result in 25% design plans. To advance it beyond that point the Selectboard would need to authorize additional engineering work to refine the plans.

On October 29, the Selectboard will hold a meeting at 6:00 pm to hear a presentation from engineers on stormwater treatment solutions that would be installed on the Jericho Center Green. The Selectboard will need to chose between inground infiltration and aboveground bio-retention options to advance to final engineering design.
