Planning Commission

The Jericho Planning Commission (PC) is made up of seven volunteer-members appointed by the Select Board. We do our work through a lens which attempts to balance the public good with private rights and interests by listening to public input, researching issues and solutions, and following state and regional laws and guidelines. The PC will discuss last Monday's Chittenden County Housing convening meeting, the tour of Camp Ethan Allen Training Site (CEATS), the Official Map project, begin discussing the update of the Town Plan, and discuss summer public engagement.

The PC will kick off the Official Map project with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission. This project will identify trail and path locations throughout town. They will also review affordable housing data with the Affordable Housing Committee.

The PC will hear a summary of Vermont's Climate Action Plan from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission as well as a review of the ADU Portal and Preview of Housing Needs Assessment from the Affordable Housing Committee.

The PC will hear some updates from some training opportunities they have recently attending, including the Fish and Wildlife assessment of Town Plan, learn about climate action & resilience and the role of healthy forests and smart growth, and further discuss the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD).

The PC will discuss their work plan for the year, a potential opportunity to work with the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD), the recent results of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) survey that was conducted, and how to assist the Selectboard in the zoning amendment process.
